A medico-first agency, for the way medicine is actually marketed.

ANEX was founded in 2018 by a team of marketers and clinicians who were frustrated by the gap between agencies that understood marketing and agencies that understood medicine. We do both, and we don't apologize for either.

Operating principles

We are a small team — by design. The principles below are how we choose work, scope work, and decide when to walk away.

Evidence first.

If a claim isn't sourceable, it doesn't ship. Our medical writers sit upstream of creative — not after. Reference packs are built before headlines.

— PILLAR 02

Specialty, not generalist.

We have not done a banking campaign. We will not. Cardiology, oncology, nephrology, women's health, pediatrics, public health — the bench is deep where it counts.

— PILLAR 03

Fewer, larger.

We take on twelve to fifteen clients at a time. Every account has a partner-level lead. There is no junior-team-runs-the-account model here.

Founded
2018, in Mumbai. Now operating across Mumbai and Bengaluru with field teams in Delhi and Hyderabad.
Bench
34 full-time — strategists, medical writers, designers, motion, producers, MLR liaisons. Three of our seniors are former MSLs.

UCPMP, IPA and OPPI guidelines applied by default. We pre-flight every campaign with our clients' MLR before a comp goes to creative review.
A short history

Seven years,
compactly told.

We grew slowly — on purpose. Below is the version that fits on one page.

2018

ANEX is founded in Mumbai.

Three founders, two clients, a single rented desk above a chemist in Andheri. The first engagement was a hospital network rebrand.

2020

The studio opens.

Built in-house production — medical writing, design, motion. Stopped subcontracting creative. The first KOL engagement program launches for an oncology client.

2022

Bengaluru office.

Opened a second office to be closer to the device and digital-health cluster. Headcount crosses 20.

2024

APAC engagements.

First multi-market program, running across 11 countries for an APAC pharma client. Added regulatory advisors in two markets.

2026

Today.

34 people. 14 active engagements. Seven of our top ten clients have been with us four years or longer.
